Seeing a need for Route 66 to be connected to modern day travelers in Phelps County, the Route 66 Museum was envisioned. Beyond exhibits the Route 66 Museum will help enhance community revitalization while also providing sustainable tourism to our amazing communities!
To provide knowledge and increase interest in the history and impact that Route 66 had and continues to have on Phelps County and the surrounding region.
The "Mother Road" a.k.a. Route 66 was established in 1926, just as the automobile was becoming commonplace in America. It runs 2500 miles from Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, California. This asphalt and concrete road traveled east to west through St. James, Rolla and Doolittle in Phelps County.
We need your help... Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goal of purchasing the "old" Hutcheson Ford Dealership and improve the building to house our museum items and display some classic cars that might have traveled the old 'mother road". Your generous donation will help fund our mission
